Nathan & Anna
It’s been long overdue to get Nathan & Anna’s Virginia Barn Wedding on the blog! These two got married at the Barns of Madison County in Etlan, Virginia. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, this venue has breathtaking views everywhere you look.
These two have the sweetest story. They met through an online dating app and matched immediately. We hear horror stories all the time of on-line dating. However, when you meet “the one” it makes those experiences totally worth it!
We especially love their proposal story. In Anna’s own words;
“Previously that week, I had been walking our dog and the weather was just amazing. The first hint of fall weather with a slight chill. I immediately asked Nathan if he was up for a hike over Labor Day weekend as it had been a while and the weather was looking amazing! He agreed and offered to include our friends, Lauren and Marco. The day of the hike, Nathan suggested I bring an extra pair of clothes for after the hike in case we stop for lunch or at a brewery. I declined (we NEVER change after our hikes and go to breweries all the time – I should have packed a second set of clothes….)
We left extremely early in the morning to pick up our friends and make it to Old Rag Mountain before the crowds. When we made it to the top, Nathan told me he had a video he wanted to show me (**cue water works**) both of my parents have passed away and he borrowed my sisters pass and visited them at Arlington National Cemetery. The video included him asking my parents for permission. Telling them how honored he was to get the opportunity to know their daughter and he wished he had been able to meet them in person. (**cue more water works**) he then got down on one knee when the video ended and proposed 🙂 I told him not to drop the ring and the small crowd around us cheered. Turns out the friends he invited were in on it and snapped some photos during the event.”
This proposal alone just showed us what kind of love they have for one another. Our team couldn’t wait to celebrate with them on the their big day at the beautiful Barns of Madison County in Virginia!
Rainy Day Wedding
They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. I am not sure if they say that just to make the bride feel better or if there is some truth to that statement. Nevertheless it rained on Anna & Nathan’s wedding day.
Unfortunately, none of us have any control over the weather. One could be upset or decide to embrace the weather. And embrace is exactly what these two did. Despite the gloominess and the rain during the day, these two welcomed it. The weather brought it’s own beauty to their day and we are in love with how these photos turned out.
We love barn wedding in Virginia, and we especially love the Barns of Madison County. We are so grateful to have been part of this sweet couples day and below are some of our favorite moments.
